Colour Challenge...

Hi There
These two are my wonderful parents whom are very special to me. As a gift  I framed this layout for them. I created this layout using the August colour challenge at Life.Paper.Scrapbook. This layout started out very different then I got carried away but I really enjoyed playing with mixed media again which I haven't done for a long time!

lots of layers with gesso, ink, stamping, HS color shine, glimmermist, tissue paper, water colour and I even dug out some beautiful prima flowers from my huge stash

These are the gorgeous colours for the challenge at Life.Paper.Scrapbook. You still have 10 days left in this challenge if you want to give it a go!

Cards

Hello
First day of school holidays here! Great to enjoy some extra family time :-) Today I  just wanted to share some simple cards. I like to have a bit of a stash of handmade cards for when I need them.
I normally like to use a simple white or kraft cardstock as my base. Then adding layers and stitching. Also a favorite of mine is tags and twine.

This Baby girl title was cut on my silhouette cameo in white cardstock and I coloured it with pink ink. This card is also different because it opens in the center.

I have also been playing with the sketch pen on my cameo, totally fun! I will share some pics next time.

Thanks for taking time to stop by my blog!
Have a great week :-)

Using the Silhouette Cameo for Titles

There are many exciting ways you can use your silhouette cameo to create titles for layouts. In these layouts I have tried two different ways.
The first layout I have used a cut file downloaded from the silhouette online store. I have made it to the size I like and then cut it on this red patterned paper. Very easy and effective!

SIMPLY ADORE YOU

This next layout I used a font I liked and typed up this saying as my title using the silhouette studio software. I then cut it out of my background paper to have the negative  I then put a plain paper behind the negative to make the letters stand out. Also simple but very effective!

So how do you cut titles for your layouts? Please share with me your favorites!

hello....project life

HELLO
yes I am still doing Project Life! I have been slack in sharing my scrapbooking as usual! but busy enjoying life! I love the concept of project life - documenting the everyday. Keeping memories of our everyday life and moments.

Here are some close up's and details...

I am such a fan of Studio Calico products so I was super excited to join their subscription club! They have Project Life Kits, Scrapbook Kits, card kits and lots of add on kits. For the last 3 month I have been receiving the Studio Calico Project Life Kit. They are FULL of goodies! The quality of the 3x4 and 6x4 cards is just fantastic. This weeks project life was created with some of my SC Project Life Kit.

My new love......Silhouette Cameo

Hi all!

I'm EXCITED.....

Yes I have finally got a silhouette cameo! I have been drooling over them for ages. My awesome hubby bought it for my wedding anniversary present. We celebrate our 17th on Sunday!

(excuse the poor pics they are from my phone.)

For those in Australia who would love a Silhouette or the accessories they are available through Scrappy Go Lucky Australia.

It comes with a instructional DVD and there is many you tube videos on how to use this amazing machine. So I have been learning how to use it and having a play..... here are some pics of what I have been doing.
I Made some embellishments for project life and a bookmark for Lachlan.

I made these Labels using the print and cut feature.

Here is a sneak of Project Life week two and three. Will share full pics soon.

I  am also trying to get my desk organised better to suit project Life. My wonderful handy hubby has made me two boxes for my desk with compartments for all my PL goodies. I still have to paint them but I was just trying it out. Perfect for my 3x4 and 6x4 cards, stamps, washi tape and stickers. Can you spot my new roller stamps from Glitz??! I cant wait to use them!

Thats all for now, thanks for visiting my blog.
Enjoy your week

Project Life Week One

Hello Again! As I said this year I am very excited that I have Started project life.

As the kids are still on school holidays we have some fun stuff to document this week.

Something I have learnt from other Project Lifers is adding text to photo's is very effective and fun! On this page the photo of Lachlan in the stocks I have used the white space in the photo to stamp and write directly on the photo. The photo of the girls new Sketchers I have added this text and stars with an app on my iPhone called Phonto.

On this page I have added speech bubbles, Washi Tape & stitching to the photo's.

Products Used :
Simple Stories - Snap, Studio Calico Printable cards, studio calico wood veneer, American Craft thickers.
Each time I share my PL Pages I would like to share with you some of my favourite things to use. Under the title....

Project Life ........Must Haves
Date Stamps - what I use... Deary Lizzy & Studio Calico.

Washi Tape - what I use...Glitz & Smash.

Heidi Swapp, Studio Calico & Project Life

Hello yes she's back in blogland!
If anyone is still out there dying to read my blog I am scrapbooking again after a looooong break!
I love to read blogs to find inspiration and cool techniques so I thought I could share some of my latest projects again! Well my current favorites at the moment is just as I have said in my title Heidi Swapp and Studio Calico. Thanks to Studio Calico this year I have started Project Life! I was able to do their online class Day By Day! It was wonderful so full of tips and inspiration.

Firstly I will share this layout my adventurous boy on the flying fox. I have used a number of  different stamps in this layout for the background. Including Kaiser, Studio Calico, Heidi Swapp & Amy Tangerine.

My next layout is my son again! Eating a big fairy floss at an outdoor cinema we went too, his face is priceless! For this layout I have used Echo Park - Everyday Eclectic. To create the circle texture in the background I have used a circle template and pressed the circles with a rub on tool.

Products Used :
Heidi Swapp - Buzz Words, Heidi Swapp Memory File stamps and Studio Calico - Wood Veneer Arrows & Hearts, Amy Tangerine - date stamp, Glitz - washi tape, crafters workshop template.

This is a little sneak of my very first PROJECT LIFE page for this year. Week One 2013. Will share the full pages soon....

Hope you Like! Please leave a comment if you still out there :)))
